Although the place isn't new or fancy, it's great for casual family dine-in and quick takeout. Sometimes it gets really busy on weekends, longer wait than usual but worth the wait :p If you are looking for a place with great food taste, this place is right for you. I'd say sashimi varieties and sushi plates are the best as they are of the freshest quality. Also the place is quite small so not adequate for big party size though. While Zen is our favourite Japanese Restaurant, my boyfriend and I have enjoyed dining here for their enoki maki (thin slices of beef wrapped around enoki-Japanese mushrooms). Their nigiri and sashimi while delicious is not a priority for us to order as they serve very thin small pieces for the price you pay. We have also had their sukiyaki (we cook ourselves on the table) and it is large enough for 3 people, although much more expensive ($60 for 2 people which includes rice and raw egg for dipping) than other restaurants where we have enjoyed the same. The sukiyaki comes traditionally (as they served), with slices of thin sukiyaki beef, tofu, Chinese cabbage, green onion, oyster mushrooms, shitake mushrooms and regular mushrooms, transparent thin noodles and onion. It's an omelette filled with fried rice and chicken Breast and a side of coleslaw; so delicious and filling. price is roughly $9-10. We also tried their polar beer (icing foam on top).
