The Keg Steakhouse + Bar is the undisputed Steakhouse leader in Canada, with a presence in the United States. Founded in 1971, The Keg has a focus on high-quality steaks, and a casual yet contemporary dining experience.
Been to the Keg in different cities and was always pleased. This on burnt a medium NY sirloin. Dry and burnt and you could see where they used a grill weight to speed up the cook time and get rid of all the juices. Complained about and was offered a dessert. Yeah for me.
This place charges way to much. The food isn't worth the price. The atmosphere is very dark and dingy. It certainly isn't a family (children) place.
If we are given agift certificate then my husband and I may go, but that would mean leaving the other half of the family at home. As i said before, the FOOD ISN'T WORTH THE PRICE.
We hadn't been to the Keg for a long time so we decided to give it a try once again. When we walked in, it was virtually empty as it was later on in the night. The hostess greeted us, then told us that we could sit in the corner. She didn't even walk us to our table or give us menus. Then, when we sat down, the bartender came and gave us menus, a little strange if you ask me. We ordered our meals and waited patiently. The complimentary bread didn't come out to us until about 15 minutes of us waiting, a little long to be waiting for bread. It was good though, warm and crunchy. Then our meals came out like 10 minutes after our bread came out. The steak wasn't medium rare, it looked more rare than ever, and it cost $34! It definitely wasn't worth the price, considering all you got on the side was a small order of vegetables. The chicken teriyaki wasn't all that great either, it tasted burnt, which means it was on the grill too long. The rice pilaf was horrible, I had to pour sauce over it to get it to taste somewhat decent. The asparagus were hard and lacked taste. For two people, we ended up wasting $59, not worth it at all. I don't know what all of the hype is of this place, I should have gone to Swiss Chalet and gotten a chicken for half of the price and it would have tasted a lot better.
awesome like always.....i wish some other brantford restaurants were as good as this place....they seated us quickly, took our orders within 5-10 min....we ordered filet mignon and was cooked and tasted perfect.....
My husband has always wanted to go to the Keg. Heard amazing things about it. Found it to be VERY noisy, not at all the atmosphere we were looking for. His steak was not as good as he was expecting it to be from a Steakhouse. We would try it again.
