The lighting seemed to be improved upon since our first visit 2 years ago. Will have to try out the new Richmond Hill location also. Read more

The nachos are to die for, and I don't even like nachos very much. The menu was severely limited due to the incredible business that is Pride Week, and I was at a stretch finding something vegetarian and to my liking. After being told that they were accepting no substitutions (understandably, but I just wanted no mayo and onion on the veggie burger), I went with my second choice, the curry. I wasn't expecting much, but it succeeded my expectations. Not fantastic and it needed more than a sprinkle of salt, but pleasant nonetheless. Co-diners raved about their nachos and pulled pork. Service was a bit scattered due to business, but were very friendly. When a beer was brought to our table that wasn't ordered -- but welcomed! -- he let us have it on the house. Blanche de Chambly on tap, fantastic! Read more

My friend ordered the Chicken Tikka, which was a big chicken breast, grilled with Tikka sauce on the side. Different, but good. I had the Ping Gai chicken which was excellent and came with Rice and Salad. Total with 2 beers came to $53. A great deal for pretty good food in an upscale pub atmosphere. Will definitely return. We tried this spot for our Anniversary. We were lucky and ended up getting a spot st the bar without reservations. We had booked at another restaurant but due to the power outage they were closed. Anyways, happy mistake finding Patois. The food was AMAZING and the service and cocktails were pretty fantastic too!!! We ordered a lot of food, I just wanted to try it all. My fav was the crispy pork belly, jerk chicken, and dirty rice. I can’t wait come back again to try more off the menu. Read more

I love this spot, for some good drinks and a chat whether I'm on my own or with friends. One of my favourite things about this spot is that they have a variety of foods of different nationalities which is rare to see! I've been loving the new management as well and the changes they've made from the renovations to the changes in the menu. As a vegetarian I appreciate having multiple options to choose from and my favourite at Wylie's is Green Mango Tofu and Olive oil based vege pasta. Read more

We just finished up with our first time ever Thursday night steak dinner. Wow! Truly tender and full of that beef flavour we are all looking for. The value you get for half the price as the big players like the kegs. We are playing our next evening out to see if this was a one time perfect steak. I truly believe the chef is really experienced as he was talking to us and explain what he inspects and excepts before he brings it in. Oh it comes with Mash potatoes and green peas. Well presented. Restaurants in Old Town Toronto ON

Dining out to a new restaurant is always a gamble. Am I going to have a good time? Is the food any good? How does this restaurant rate? Before you base your choice on the menu plastered outside of the restaurant window or from someone you just met off the street, here are some simple tips to guide your stomach to the best restaurants.

Tips on how to find restaurants in Old Town Toronto ON

  • Restaurant reviews: Online and newspaper restaurant reviews in the food or lifestyle section are your best asset when trying to find top restaurants in your area. Most reviews rate the restaurant by atmosphere, portion size, price and service. These independent restaurant reviewers have no one to please but their finicky tastes.
  • The concierge always knows: If you are travelling in Old Town Toronto ON, your hotel’s concierge or hotel staff will be able to find restaurants that suit your taste buds and budget. Are you looking for something ethnic, local or for a fine dining experience? The concierge will be able to lead you in the right direction and even place a reservation for you or place a takeout order if dealing with delivery restaurants.
  • Call ahead: If you have specific dietary needs, food allergies or need to host a large party, call the restaurant of your choice ahead of time and be specific. You don’t want to ruin your evening dining out because the restaurant didn’t have a highchair for little Tommy.
  • Ask the neighbourhood: Most local food and wine vendors deal directly with the restaurants in your neighbourhood. Ask them about the restaurants they deal with and the kinds of meals they serve.
  • Sense of adventure: Your nose is your best tool when out to find
restaurants in your neighbourhood. If you smell something delicious coming from a restaurant, follow your nose and discover a new place to add to your list – make your own review and keep a list for future reference.
