Shop 'Belle et Rebelle' is intended as a showcase for Quebec fashion window. Clothing and modern designs are always tasteful and offer to all women the chance to feel beautiful and well at all times. 'Belle et Rebelle' welcomes this site more than twenty
Anne Lesperance had an unconventional vision of fashion and commerce. With a taste for novel clothing and a preference for affordable items made using eco-friendly practices, she wanted to make the creations of local designers accessible to women and prove that original apparel of excellent quality didn’t have to cost a fortune. After giving birth to her child in 2006, she decided to open a store that would offer precisely the apparel she wished to find.
Belle et Rebelle was launched in 2007 to offer locally made apparel and accessories to help Montreal women dress to impress, all while supporting Quebec designers. Today, the company continues to grow, bridging the gap between socially conscious shoppers and local producers who rely increasingly on sustainable practices to create unique and beautiful items and outfits Montreal fashionistas can be proud to wear.
All items on offer at Belle et Rebelle are made using eco-conscious techniques that avoid toxic products and rely on recyclable and biodegradable materials. “Ethical agriculture has been going on for a while,” states Marie-Hélène Lajoie, the store’s manager. “Why wouldn’t it be applied to the production of clothing as well?”
The shop Belle et Rebelle is certainly a little gem of the Plaza St-Hubert. This neighbourhood is enjoying a resurgence in popularity and it feels good! Belle et Rebelle is a place to encounter more than 100 Quebec designers, with this emphasis on diversity adding charm to the shop. It is the haven of buying locally and responsibly, which encourages artisans to flock here.
