There’s no shortage of specialty coffee shops in Montreal, but there will always be those pushing the envelope to provide something unique for discerning coffee aficionados. Dispatch Coffee on Saint-Zotique Ouest is one of these.
Running a coffee truck in the summer of 2012, owner Chrissy Durcak made a name for herself catering, delivering to and serving regulars who knew a good thing when they tasted it. That winter, the landlord from whom she rented her truck’s parking space urged her to do something more than simply keep a parked truck, so Chrissy ran a pop-up espresso bar from the truck, inside a garage, three days a week, with pastries supplied from a friend and talented pastry chef, Kyle Crouch. This grew her brand and reputation in the city.
In the summer of 2014, DispatchCoffee was granted a food truck license along with two other coffee trucks. The Dispatch truck endured but Chrissy could tell that the time was right to expand to other ventures.
Having earned a reputation serving some of the best coffee in Montreal, Chrissy took on new operational partners Jordan Crosthwaite and Christopher Durning to open the flagship café and roaster in Montreal in October 2014. Dispatch also operates another coffee shop on the McGill campus to the delight of McGill staff and students.
Though the city is loaded with top-notch coffee shops, regulars seem to swear by this place. For a refreshing cup of coffee – hot or cold – in a relaxed atmosphere, head to this Saint Zotique café.
