While the classic diner is a part of North American heritage, in the UK, one of the hallmarks of the dining scene is the chippy, a gourmet lunch bar specializing in fish & chips. Slightly more upscale than a diner, chippies draw lunch crowds from all over Britain who come for the fresh catch and typical English atmosphere. Who knew that Montrealers would love the traditional chippy just as much?
Jean-Michel Creusot, Paul Desbaillets and Toby Lyle were all labouring in the restaurant industry when they branched out on their own. They launched The Burgundy Lion, a traditional English pub that was a runaway successes. With that success under their belts, an idea for a new project began to brew. If Montrealers were so fond of English pubs, maybe they'd like to have their very own chippy.
The trio headed off to England visiting one chippy after the other, some world-renowned, before heading back to Montreal to turn their knowledge of British fare into Montreal's first Brit & Chips. Opened on McGill Street in 2010 with business crowds rushing to fill the space for an authentic taste of England.

Tres bon fish n chip mais depuis quelque temps, les quantites ont beaucoup diminuées donc devient dispendieux pour un simple dîner.
You don't go there for the ambiance or the decoration: you go there for their fish'n chips :) they are probably the best in Mtl :) we go once a month with the team and everytime, it's all good :)
Substandard service- rude waitress. Fries are nowhere near as good as they should be. Better is not authentic British. Spend you money elsewhere. Get a hamburger!
Excellent Fish & Chip.
Over cooked fish and chips would not recommend this restaurant ! Dry over cooked fish!
