WORST SERVICE!!!! Took 45min to receive salad soup. Staff not showing like they cared to be at work. Most of the main courses we ordered had very little on the plate and arrived at about an hour and a half. The pasta at Fresco for sure NOT the best in town. I would recommend friends and family to go else where for pasta.
One of the places I frequent most often for special evenings. I have celebrated many birthdays and special events at Fresco's. LOVE, the Sambuca Shrimp, the sauce is so good you better save some of the bread they bring to the table to mop it up! One of the places in town that does Gnocchi really well!!
For starters, I would like to say this Resturant under its newer ownership has taken this Little italian diner and turned it into a stylish hip landmark Italian Bistro. THe newer look, funky layout and stylish decor make set the backdrop for an amazing cuisine experience. Although, its sounds fussy or fancy, its just the opposite. Perfect for a birthday party, a corporate dinner or your first romantic meal, this resturants food will surely impress. The first reviewer must have been prior to the new management and I would urge you to try it again. Hats off to a job well done in turning this place into a timeless, charming dinner hot spot. Bravo Bistro Italiano!

The pasta special was excellent. My friends also very much enjoyed their dishes (salmon, soup, and salads). The service was just as wonderful. Would recommend it to anyone.

With a second location at 5547 Hazeldean Road in Kanata, this Italian bistro is an Ottawa favourite. The menu is elegant and beautifully presented, offering dishes such as beef carpaccio, mussels and fries, and rainbow trout. The craft cocktails are considered to be some of the best in the city, serving some unique creations. The Caesar is made with bacon and pepper-infused Gordon's Gin, along with traditional ingredients, and a garnish of bacon. If you love Caesars, but not bacon, the bartenders will surely accommodate your requirements with a vegetarian version.

It is still Elgin Street, though, so don’t be surprised to find yourself surrounded by a large, lively group as you sip a cocktail laced with house-made syrups and infusions.
